Floral Demin

Floral denim surfaced a few years ago. However, it is being utilized in many new ways today. Some women might hesitate to pair floral denim with other patterns. They also tend to hold back when it comes to accessorizing. However, floral denim can be worn with patterns and fabulous accessories as long as you do it RIGHT.

A pair of floral jeans might be considered "loud" so pairing it with something "quiet" only seems right. But what if instead of simple or busy you chose a top that is a happy medium. Below, I paired white floral jeans with a red and white striped, sheer top. When using stripes with another pattern, it is important to not have too many colors on one piece; one is enough, two at most. Using the same red color in the shirt that appears in the jeans keeps the outfit from being too loud as well.

A light shirt with a lace accent can also do the trick. The blue shirt below has just right amount of extra fabric to turn a quiet shirt into a chatty shirt.

In the second photo below I have put the same pair of jeans with a yellow, horizontally-striped, sleeveless button-down. The subtle yellow on the top contrasts well with the pants and does does not over shadow the floral design.

While floral bottoms have made quite the uproar, the design is also ever popular in tops. My favorite way to wear a denim floral top is with bright pants. What else can be worn with a floral denim top? Tell me your ideas!
